Mums' Army: Stories of antisocial behaviour

Mums’ Army (registered political party 16536) has been established to combat antisocial behaviour in Britain. Launched in January 2006, we have continued to demand that the epidemic of bullying and violent behaviour be given higher priority by the government. With over 300 active campaigners across the UK, we put up candidates for the local elections in 2006 and 2007. Dudley, West Midlands: Sheila Slater

Sheila Slater sought sanctuary from domestic violence only to find her family being offered housing on an estate where, she says, people are afraid to leave their homes. Sheila, 42, says: ‘I was hoping for a fresh start but I refuse to put my children in an environment like that. We have lived in fear for long enough and I just want somewhere safe. I am having to pay for an hotel room. I am at my wits’ end and that is why I am joining Mums’ Army.’
